Can I create a blog with multiple niches? Will it be valuable to readers & Google?
In my strong opinion, the answer is technically no when considering the overall situation. Starting a blog with multiple niches is generally not advised or suggested unless you have a team of subject-matter experts from different niches. In fact, it becomes one of the toughest tasks because of content management concerns.
If you work alone, start with one niche you are most passionate about before gradually moving on to the next one in the niche around your main niche (like connected niches).
Search engines such as Google favor websites that specialize in niche content and establish authority in a specific area, demonstrating EEAT (Experience, Expertise, Authority, and Trustworthiness). This, in turn, encourages readers to trust the information presented and strengthens their connection with you and your blog.
Remember, a blog with multiple niches may struggle to rank well for specific topics, as it may not appear as authoritative in any one area. Of course, there are some exceptions on a few leading blogs, which are still debated by many SEOs these days.
While it is still possible to create a blog with multiple niches, it's important to consider the challenges and mitigate them effectively, which is 'not so easy' in today's SEO environment. Specialized blogs generally perform better in terms of reader engagement and search engine visibility.
